RAM started with a clean sheet of paper when we designed the Pro Street single, dual, and triple disc clutch systems. The heart of this design is the billet aluminum cover. The billet cover and diaphragm provides a silky-smooth clutch pedal while maximizing holding power. Additionally, this design allows RAM to offer a more race specific single and dual disc unit tailored to road racing, auto crossing, drifting or drag racing, and classes where a diaphragm clutch system may be required or desired.
- Optimized billet pressure plate design – By manufacturing the billet cover completely in house, we have refined the static pressure, release length, and lever position. - Improved engagement length – RAM’s in-house design team has prioritized engagement length and pedal feel. Engineered for seamless operation, the Pro Street offers silky-smooth engagement and effortless control across the full range of motion.
- Size – An increased 10.5-inch clutch diameter translates to enhanced holding power and improved drivability. RAM’s 10.5-inch Pro Street pressure plate packs 2400 pounds of clamping power, far more than smaller 9.5-inch setups. The increased diameter of the Pro Street will not only boost its torque capacity but also improve its ability to dissipate heat.
- Flywheel - A precision balanced and surface ground billet steel or billet aluminum flywheel provides the perfect foundation for every Pro Street clutch system. RAM’s precision balance process means easy installation right out of the box, and with our signature surface finish, break-in is a snap.
- Floater plate – A strap driven or stand driven floater plate is used based on your vehicle’s needs, adding another layer of customization to the Pro Street system.
- Optimized clutch pack - The standard Pro Street units utilize a nesting sprung hub top disc and solid hub bottom disc clutch pack. Nesting hubs provide a wider spline engagement area to reduce wear and evenly spread the load across the input shaft. Designed to reduce noise and mechanical strain, the sprung hub top disc softens initial engagement forces. Race units may be configured with either a sprung hub/solid hub clutch pack combination or two solid hub clutch discs depending on vehicle needs.
- Final assembly - Each unit is meticulously assembled on the flywheel prior to shipping to ensure proper release once your clutch is installed. To streamline installation, a detailed specification card is included to make clutch setup straightforward—so you can hit the road or track with total confidence.
Pro Street Dual Disc Street and Street/Strip Systems
RAM Pro Street dual-disc organic and metallic clutch kits are the pinnacle of what RAM offers the automotive enthusiast. All RAM Pro Street kits include either a RAM billet steel or billet aluminum flywheel. Key features of the Pro Street include an increased clamp load billet pressure plate and 10.5-inch diameter premium-faced organic or metallic clutch discs. The pressure plate provides a silky-smooth clutch pedal feel, while the larger 10.5-inch discs provide maximum holding capacity and heat dissipation when compared to the OEM clutch or other aftermarket kits. The billet clutch cover, which is designed and machined completely in house, optimizes the release length and provides the ultimate in drivability and strength. The RAM Pro Street unit also utilizes a nesting sprung hub top disc that helps dampen and quiet the initial clutch engagement. A strap driven floater plate ensures quiet operation. We have further enhanced this single disc system by integrating adjustable titanium cover stands - an innovation drawn from our Pro Billet drag race clutch platform - enabling precise control over static clampload for optimized launch control and performance. Available friction material options include bronze metallic or sintered iron metallic pads. A lightweight version is also available, reducing the clutch package weight, from approximately 34, to approximately 29 pounds.
