The Defiant Series of single disc and dual disc drag race ‘slipper style' clutches are manufactured by RAM in collaboration with Black Magic Clutches. These 8-, 10-, and 11-inch assemblies combine superior strength with user-friendly adjustability, providing maximum performance and hassle-free operation. The design of the Defiant unit ensures that each unit maintains the ideal spring position and lever configuration to maximize the clamping pressure and counterweight application. Each Defiant clutch system is custom built to match the unique specifications of your vehicle, factoring in critical parameters such as engine type, transmission configuration, rear end setup, and tire information.

Engineering Excellence
- The Defiant utilizes a billet aluminum cover, billet pressure ring, and billet flywheel construction providing superior strength and reduced weight
- Base pressure spring cups machined into the cover
- A stand driven pressure ring provides maximum rotational strength when compared to cover driven designs
- Segmented heat shields integrated into the pressure ring and flywheel preserve surface integrity through repeated heating/cooling cycles. This enhances durability and system reliability.
- The lever position and profile are optimized to apply pressure across the center of the pressure ring maximizing performance and pressure application
- Designed to fit in tight and/or shallow bellhousing applications
- Shorter overall height than steel cover units by ¼ inch in 10-inch single disc configuration
- 2 pounds lighter than conventional steel cover units in 10-inch single disc configuration
